• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

So I'm totally new to modeling for FSX, however, I've done quite a bit of texture work for repaints of various aircraft's. I've began using SketchUp to ease into modeling. I'm not sure how many take this program as a serious modeling program or where it can go, but it makes for a start. Here's where I have gotten with it soo far. Can't make any 100% promises it'll be done anytime soon...being it's the first work I've done...However, thought I'd open the field to show people and to take any suggestions. Considering it's on The Airport Guys agenda to do this airport, this airport may get a much better quality job done to it in the future....Anyways, onto the goodies...

Hi, glad to see there is a simmer not far from KINT where I live.
So far so good. You've nicely done the easy part, the texturing is the most time consuming part (at least for me).
Don't forget to "Reverse Faces" (purple ones) on your building.
I don't know if Sketchup is looked down at by the "pros" but to me it boils down to...do I need a Silicone Valley computer to balance my check book? Is Sketchup easy to use just to create boxes? You see where I'm getting right!
I created my KGSO years ago, didn't have any documentation so here is my very loose interpretation of it in FS2004.

If you need those FedEx repaint or the trailer objects I'll be glad to share them with you.

And the Marriott hotel was actually the first object I ever created using Sketchup.

@sfrenchie: This is one fine scenery for KGSO! Is this available anywhere? I'd love to have a copy of this scenery - as there is no other FS9 scenery that even comes close to looking this good.
