• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Having trouble getting EditVoicePack phraseology to cooperate

I can't believe this hasn't been done yet (that I could find by searching "CTAF" on AVSIM and flightsim.com libraries), and I hope it's not because people have tried like I am and just couldn't get it to work. I'm modifying the CTAF phrases to repeat the name of the airport at the end of the transmission. I downloaded the ATC Voicepack SDK so I could identify the phrases I needed to overwrite and I made an EditVoicePack mod for calling out clear of the runway. But when I updated the voicepack and selected the option from the ATC window the text showed up fine - "Lincoln Park Traffic, N682K is clear of the runway, Lincoln Park" however all that was said by voice was "is clear of the runway". I checked the way I wrote out the phraseology in EditVoicePack against other phraseology mods (enclosed the variable sayings in {}, overriding the default and all that) and couldn't see anything I was doing different. If anyone has any ideas or wants to check it out here is the EVPMOD file.

Son of a bitch I told myself I would take one more look and I noticed these yellow vertical lines in the audio. Seems you have to insert the markers where you want the phrase variables to me called out. Apparently I forgot to read the last paragraph of the User Guide on editing Phraseologies after running off and getting the Voicepack SDK (that was mentioned in the paragraph before).

Lol, a good man once said "Roads well traveled speak to us and listen do we not?"
Frequently do we revisit things that we have told ourselves we would do, and simply forgot or thought no way
