• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Help making screen for MSFS

I have searched what feels like the whole entire internet to try find a video, or anything that may help in creating a simple screen.

All I want to create is a screen that shows what lights are turned on. For example "Taxi Lights". It would be grey if they are off and when they are on, the text turns green. Maybe I'm missing something?

Its a bit confusing, do I use html, wasm or something else?

Any help is very much appreciated such as resources or anything.

What sort of context are you talking about here? Do you want to create a screen to insert into a particular aircraft because that will involve a lot of work beyond just making a screen? Or do you want some separate screen that works with any aircraft which is easy to do using the Simvar watcher tool in the SDK?

Your question is very open ended and it requires a bit more details to answer without having to go into a mountain of details.

Oh okay, sorry.

Basically it will be going into an aircraft already made. It uses default Asobo panels atm.

If there is an easier place to start, such as a screen that works with any aircraft, the easier place may be best to start.

What you will need to do is create a project, build a html/js gauge, compile the project, add the new gauge to the panel.cfg of the aircraft.

This should get you started although it's very dated now. I'd recommend not using the browser versions anymore. When I originally wrote the tutorial it was impossible to reload the aircraft within MSFS but now in Dev mode you can open the Windows - Behavior window and click on to Quick Reload to see any changes.

I've just noticed this works, even when not in DevMode:

See? Custom vis condition with the various variables and levels. Still have to edit it manually, apparently but that quick reload definitely reloads both the scene and aircraft.
