• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi every one, well im new in this site, and i came here looking for some help.

The thing is that i have a website dedicatd to all kind of repaints for FS2004 (and some for FSX) but now im over a new kind of project, im designing the International airport of Santiago de Chile in Airport for Windows, but i want to replace the runway with a custom texture runway, and i don´t know how to do it, so if someone know how, please give me a hand with that. So far i been trying marking the invisible option on the runway settings and using a flat object from EOD to draw the runway, but no with good results.

Im not sure if this question has been answer before, i did look for it in the forums but i didn't find it, if im wrong, i really sorry for repeat the subject, but i really need to do that.

This scenery will be manly for FS2004.

PD.- I apologize for my english, but it is not my native language, and I am a bit out of practice...

FS-STGO-Welcome. Glad you're here. I don't know if I can be of much help, but a couple of things- Airport for Windows is ok but I believe it is scasm based... might or might not cause problems, maybe not.

Architect 2k4 is now free. Even on the website their is a tutorial on how to make your own runway textures. www.pouksim.com I hope that's right. I primarily just use AFCAD, some of Arch 2k4, scenery libraries I find and some I made. I think most of us do something similar.

And your English is just fine. Good to cya here. Bob

Thanks jyarddog

I already tried manipulate the runway textuires with FS Architect, (free version of it), but it seems to be something wrong with the program, coz i saw the tutorial, but when i create a runway in it, the properties don't let me use the "custom tex" option...i will keep trying...
THANKS ANY WAY, for the welcome and the tip.

Even so, i need a option por Airport for windowds, because the airport is almost ready....

Hi- Go to Doug's websiteThere are a number of tutorials on how to do this and that. One of them is how to make custom runway textures. Let me know how it works out. Bob
