• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS24 How are you determining if an aircraft is in the MS hangar?

In MSFS2020 there is the PLANE IN PARKING STATE parameter which returns true if you are in the MY HANGAR section of the PROFILE.

When in the hangar the camera state is 15 when outside but if you switch camera it can 2 or 3. I have also found the aircraft latitude and longitude will both be around 0.013974503.

In MSFS2024 the PLANE IN PARKING STATE parameter doesn't seem to work. In the aircraft configuration screen the camera state is 16 but PLANE IN PARKING STATE remains at zero. The latitude and longitude are both around -0.000000015. At the moment the only way I can differentiate between being in the aircraft configuration menu and on the runway (or apron) with the START FLIGHT button waiting to be clicked is with the latitude and longitude parameters (these will now be filled with your location). So if the camera state is 16 and latitude and longitude are around 0 then I can assume the aircraft is in the aircraft configuration screen.

I just found this thread Anthony and it is very interesting. Have you done any further experimenting in this area? My question is that I want to control the visibility of a part while the airplane is in the hanger for both 2020 and 2024, so if I read what you say correctly then I can control said visibility with LAT and LONG. Great idea. I will try.
Thanks
