• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

How Do I Install the GoogleServer_api3 Zip?

Hi,

I am now running Windows 10 Pro and getting all my programs installed. I've just downloaded and installed the 313 version of SbuilderX. The Virtual Satlellite tiles work okay but the google satelite does not download any images. I assumed the old tiles would not work so I downloaded the googleserver_api3 zip file. In the zip, there is a folder named GoogleServer_api3. In that folder are 3 sub-folders named, GoogleServer_api3, SbuilderX_x64, and SbuilderX_x86. Where, and how do I exactly place all or each of these files and folders?

Another question I have is that do I need to update the SbuilderX to version 315?

Ken.

Hi Ken:

I recommend using SBuilderX version 3.15 instead of version 3.13 with any 'add-on' tile downloader DLLs; see this thread: :pushpin:

NOTE: SBuilderX version 3.15 "Full" ZIP posted by Dick has a complete installation folder chain inside a ZIP file; just un-ZIP it. 😉

Hi Gary,

I've downloaded the SB315 and it looks like the full version of SbuilderX. But I'm confused here. Dick said in the link you've posted:

"Also, I have made a full zipped version of the program, with all folders filled for immediate use without a previous installation of version 314."

But in the readme file of this full version, it says:

"You need to have a complete and running version of SBuilderX 3.14 installed in your system. Then you simply replace/add the files contained in the present archive."

It seems like 2 conflicting instructions or either I'm not grassping this. I have version 3.13 installed now. Do I need to upgrade to version 3.14 and then upgrade to 3.15 or do I just un-install the SbuilderX version 3.13 I have now and then just upzip the full version of 3.15 and use it?

Ken.

Hi Ken:

Un-install the SBuilderX version 3.13 you have now, and then just upzip the full version of 3.15 ...and use it. :pushpin:

I just read this and way back I installed full version of 315. But now when I open it I cannot get any background maps? Been so long I do notknow how to add api to see maps. Are the others outdated? (2017 era it looks like)

Hi Marcus:

The tileserver DLLs are already included within the complete SBX315 ZIP Dick provided for us (be sure to use the 64-Bit version).

SBuilderX Menu > Edit > Tileservers > 'check' to confirm tileserver choice > [OK] > Exit to work-space > {F1} key=Show Background.

PS: See this walk-through for SBuilderX 3.15 installation / configuration:
