How to create 3d runway lights in FSX?

Hello, I am quite new here. I asked a develloper if it could be possible to make 3d runway lights for LTAC ANKARA ESENBOĞA Airport. Now he said I could use his (From LTBA Atatürk İstanbul Scenery) files (.bgl) and put them at the runways in Ankara. So now I have some .bgl files of İstanbul but I wonder how I can put them into Ankara?

Is this possible? Can somebody help me?

I would like to use the 24lights.blg file for Runway 21L of LTAC
and the 18llights.blg file for the runways 03R , 03L and 21R of Ankara Esenboğa LTAC

Please note: those files are using the ILS of Istanbul. When you tune the ILS FRQ, the lights will be on. How can I set the ILS FRQ for LTAC?

Hi,

Inside the BGL file it seems there are 5 scenery objects (MDL files). I assume these are the different types of lights used. And these objects are placed at different positions along the runway.

Since it seems you are in contact with the author already I guess it is best to ask him how he did the placement, since you will have to do that again for the different airport. He should also be able to tell you which MDL file is which type of light.

Hello thank you for quick response. The information about mdl sounds to me like Chinese.:), but I can tell you he told me that he used Object Placement Tool.

According there are 3 runways at ATATÜRK. 36R/18L ; 36L/18R and 24/06, it could be possible what you said about the 5 types of MDL (whatever what MDL is :D).

Could it be possible to put them at Esenboğa LTAC?

Thank you ARNO

Hi,

From the BGL file it is hard to see all details, but given the amount of objects in it I tihnk each light of the runway is a separate object. Each of them is placed at a certain lat/lon position. So you can not simply place the entire BGL at a different location, you would have to reposition all objects in it.

The MDL files are the file that contain the actual object, the XML file around it does the placement.

is there an other possibility? Do you know a file which it could work? The author said that he did it with object placement tool. Is this correct?

tnx

Yes, if you take his objects you can place them along the runway you want them to be using the Object Placement Tool. As I said before, you will manually have to reposition them all.
