• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

I want to make photoreal runway for LDSP airport in FS2004, a becouse i am new please could someone help me to start project. Is it posible to make photoreal runway in GMAX, if yes could you help me with start..

Hi,

Yes, if you want to make your own custom runway it is easiest to do so in GMax. What you have to do is make them with the FS2002 gamepack for GMax as that is the only one that allows you to tweak them into proper ground polygons.

if I make a big wide a ground polygon with only 1 object its got blurry when landing at foggy weather.

is there aany way to do this?
 
Can you clarify your problem a bit more? Is the texture more blurry than in other weather?

I make a big ground polygon to cover all airport area and texturing with a ground image, its use a makemdl fs2002.

all airport got blur like that... is there a good tutorial to build a ground except makemdl did? like fssc maybe, but fssc cannot use a custom runway texture. :(
 
You mean the aircraft gets blurred and not the polygon you just created?

That is normally caused by overloading of the graphics. Did you convert your textures to DXT, it is advised to all have them as DXT.
 
no I mean I've got blurry on my created polygon like 'blurry on that aircraft' sory bout my english :(
sory I cannot capture a blurry scenery for this time..

yup, I already convert all texture to DXT3, is it need to be convert to mipmap texture too?

is there a technique to make a custom runway like payware do?
 
Yes, mipmaps are also advised. Also, DXT1 is better for most textures that do not use transparency. DXT3 uses more memory.
