How to position a 3D object modelled with SketchUp?

#1
Hi, what tool do I use to position a 3D objetc modelled with SketchUp like a building landmark in a specific place in the scenery? I am new to SketchUp and I read that to position a 3D objetc near or in a specific place at an airport I must use the WED but I did find nothing that show me how to place, for example, a barn on a farm away from airports. Any tips?

You don't have to have an airport selected to place objects. You can just create a project for an area. This video shows how to do that (pretty simple, actually).
In addition to what is shown in this video, you must first create the folder structure for your area and copy your obj. file and textures, or your object will no show up in WED. i.e. :

Custom Scenery >
......................................>My Area
............................................................>objects
.............................................................>textures

(textures can actually live in the same folder as the objects, if you like - it's not necessary that they be in their own folder as long as the path in your .obj file is correct.
