• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How to remove coastline "ridges"

Messages

Hello all.
Can anyone tell me how to remove these annoying coastline ridges that appear in certain parts of the world (ie. the sea is on 2 levels near a coastline) ?

Many thanks in advance,
Tim.

I can warmly recommend the scenery builder for this task. It is a bit comlicated at the start, but once one sorts out all the paths to the required folders and starts creating with it, man it shows both POWER and SIMPLYCITY, provided, that one is at least fairly familiar with the scenery building terminology.
You can get it here: http://www.ptsim.com/downloads/sb205.zip
Make sure first You do is really read the "Readme". Good luck.

I have tried both of those and they are both long-winded for what I want to do. All I want to do is adjust two short coastlines. SBuilder is too complex for me (same reason I gave up on gMax) and Ground2k4 keeps crashing on me with Mismatch errors.

Is there anyone here who might know how to use these products willing to make these adjustments for me (I will provide all the details and help wherever possible) ?

Thanks,
Tim.

No problem, just send me a PM and say what needs to be done. I can spend a couple of days doing this:)

Jersey is finished

Well, took me more than a couple of days and that is simply because the
error was actually easy to repair, but hard to find. Gosh, the guy making Your area must have been all smoked up. The problem was in the LWM polys in the two southern bays of Jersey - some seven of them had altitude definition different than zero and that produced the ridge in the coastal water.

Tim, You said " is there somebody willing to do that for me?", so I can only hope that You won't mind, if also others can share it. What only really puzzles me in the whole story about this that it's more than two years since the ACOF arrived
and the mistake of this magnitude was unnoticed, well at least nobody was complaining about it. To cut it short, here it is:

The site is otherwise still a big mess, I do appologise for that, but day only has 24 hours and that is definitely not enough, at least not enough for me . . .
