• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Can someone in their infinite wisdom PLEASE tell me how to setup SimConnect. I mean DETAILED instructions please.

I want to use SimConnect with a number of Arno's addons, but I cannot get it to work! In VGDS for example, the program refuses to give the heading to the gate. You can do hand stands in front of the computer while whistling you favorite tune! NADA!

Do you need to add the DLL to your FSX DLL.XML or the EXE.XML file? If so, then what is the file name and where is it located? Probably in the SDK directory, but where?

I searched internet for an answer, but all I can find was issues people are having with SimConnect. After two days, I have come to realise that there is no precise instructions. Can anyone help, please!
 
There is nothing to do other than install FSX. SimConnect is part of the system. Am I missing something?

did you review the other tools by Arno section - assume you did. perhaps it's an issue with the VGDS program and not simConnect.

Programmers link the simconnect library to their program and it communicates with the Sim.

Is there an error message you can share.?
 
Okay.... I thought it was a module that I needed to install... :banghead: No wonder I have been baning my head against a wall for the past two days! :p

VGDS refuses to give the heading... I will try the old fashioned manual way then!

Just figured it out... There is no medication for stupidity...

VGDS works with FSCONNECT and NOT SIMCONNECT!

FSConnect is for FS2004 only...
