• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How to update SbuilderX ?

Install the new DDL?

It is customary to inform us how you did it- step by step. Bob

Well, Bob, I didn't know it was up to me to explain how to do it and I simply fumbled through it, like you did last time, after several attempts at trying to figure out what went where. I will try to remember which steps, out of the several I tried, that worked. I wouldn't have posted that the new ddl showed the old KMYR map. It would have been simpler if ......

1) After screwing the entire program up with my attempts, I finally deleted the entire SBuilderX, deleted all remaining files, and installed the SBuilderX313 version, making sure not to install it into Program Files, Program Files (x86), or Program Data, so I installed it into MSFS, where my ADE is installed, thanks to good ole Jon (that scruffy duck). Uninstalling the program and deleting the remaining files should have taken care of deleting any old tiles.

2) This time, I deleted the GoogleServer.dll in the Tiles folder of the newly installed SBuilderX program, which should take care of making sure the old tiles are gone, I hoped.

3) I downloaded the zip file containing the new dll into a folder on the desktop and unzipped it into that folder.

4) This time, I copied the unzipped GoogleServer.dll, contained within the "code" folder, separately into the Tiles folder along with the unzipped "code" folder, since I didn't know where else to put it. (Note: I don't actually know if the new GoogleServer.dll actually has to be separately copied into the Tiles folder, or if it is sufficient to have deleted the original dll and just place the "code" folder, which contains the new GoogleServer.dll, into the Tiles folder, but I did copy it out into the Tiles folder just in case. Having two of these dll's in the Tiles folder seemed not to make a difference.)

5) I opened SBuilderX313 and entered my long/lat for KMYR into the ini file and started SBuilderX313, opened and named a new project, selected the GoogleServer in Preferences, and clicked Background and Go to Position and low and behold my newest KMYR map appeared. How is that for luck! :p Now to download the instructions again to see if I can get an updated Photoreal to show up in FSX for KMYR.

But thanks anyhow to Dick and Gary, without whom none of this would be available. :) John

John- No problem! it's just helpful when you find a solution to something... someone else here might benefit from your gracious "enlightenment"! hahaha! Thanx for posting this. My last install was a hit and miss and finally success, but it was quite some time ago. Bob
