Hi everyone!

I have received several e-mails from people having issues uv-unwrapping in Blender. Here is a video tutorial showing what I have learnt so far uv-unwrapping with Blender.

I hope that it helps!

Thanks, Kris

Great video, will also focus more on the UV map with vertex groups.
Is there a reason why you do not keep the 3D view and the UV map in sync?
I use this in most cases because you have a much better overview when grabbing and moving the texture?
Thanks for your video, it always helps me a lot.

Hi Mr. Jdberg!

Thank you!

And to answer your question :Is there a reason why you do not keep the 3D view and the UV map in sync? I do not know what you mean by 3D view and the UV map in sync. I will have to do some studding on this to find out what you are talking about.

If you have time Mr. Jdberg, maybe you could write a short example of what you are talking about so that I can update my UV-unwrap video.

Thank you, Kris:)

Hi Kris,
I can do this when I am back home again, at the moment I only have a tablet here and no blender running on it.
But there is a button in the lower area of the UV mapping that is called
Keep UV and Edit Mode Mesh Selection in Sync
It is left of the vertex mode but only in the UV window.
It shows all current mappings but only the selected in orange. You can select a part in the 3d window and it gets active in the UV window too and vice versa. Because all mappings are displayed, you get a good overview of your free spaces in the texture.
It works for faces, edges and vertices. I often select things via UV map instead of turning around my object in 3D view.

Thank You Very Much Mr. Jdberg!

I will try that tomorrow. That will help me a lot!!

Thank you, Thank you, Mr. Jdberg!:D

Sincerely, Kris:)
