• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have an object..(Mccarran Janet Airlines Terminal) its not level in the sim. Because ADE (in 2 way edit) removes all your models from the lists.. I really don't want to go that route and try in DevMode..which I suck at....I have watched videoes about origins and put a polygon slab under object and i guess export it as the glft....if i upload the bin/xml/gltf...could someone fix that or can someone walk me thru how to do this...Thanks.. Most of the videos i watch are not for Noobs...lol and some of them or most of them talk like there going to a fire or are going to die before they get their statement out. I try the two way and load the project xml but when I get into scenery editor and object..it list objects and it nevers find the object and yet..there it sits....

Using the MSFS SDK developer mode, one can add a scenery object with infinite control over placement, orientation, and scale. I use ADE to place my airport elements and Dev mode to place all my objects.

Thanks but if in the "add" if the object is not in the list..how do you add it? Will continue my quest...Its in ADE but I just need to get it out of the ground..thats why I was even thinking od DevMode. but Blender could be a better option for me since I really am not a developer or have those talents.. BTW Nice computer :) @=rk=

Thanks,
BobM.

I use the SDK examples, SimpleScenery, is one. It is actually more intuitive than a console app in my opinion, like ADE, although it is the structured nature of ADE that I prefer, to lay out my airport elements. Runways are 2d, as is the ADE interface, scenery is 3d.

So, once you build your scenery package, you can open the Scenery Editor panel and click to "add this asset group," this takes the compiled scenery, in your case the Janet terminal, that was accomplished with the build operation and it loads it into the virtual file system, so the simulator can place it into the scenery list, for you to select and place. Once this is complete, you can save the scenery.

Thanks @=rk= ...Most of videos are based on people doing MSFS without ADE...Anyway..look at these two pics.. I have renamed the 3 unknowns because the gizmo showed me what the object was but I can't save the scenery or it won't turn green in the button. But if i can't save it.. I am back to square one as far as trying to level the terminal...

Thanks,
BobM.

Bob, you've accomplished a lot, to get your model into the gizmo. It appears there are errors with the xml syntax, or model attributes, that prevent it from being specifically labelled in the editor. I think it would be really helpful to fully publish an actual scenery sample, add that to the project, to get a feel for the expected workflow and use of the gizmo, but that is how my mind works. Also, there is the "console" window in MSFS dev mode. If you familiarize yourself with it, clear it of information before you conduct a build, or perform any operation, it will refer to that "invalid child," specifically and it will express what makes it invalid, although it's language of expression is sometimes a bit arcane, to understand. Still, it has helped me dismiss many errors of my xml documents and file structures.

Can you refer your source and original model format for the terminal?
