• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey guys,

I really can not get this airport to work.
I used a flatten poly (like any other time I did) but the airport looks like in the screenshots below.

I admit I never had such problems with any other airport I made.

I really need some help here!

P.S Flatten altitude and Airport altitude are equal - I checked this.

Thanks for any advice,

Peter

Did you change the airport altitude at any point in time?

I've found this is the issue often with flattens, even though they are the same height they never sync correctly so you'll have to adjust your flatten mate.

Reduce the height.

Only time I've encountered it was when I changed the airport altitude and changed my mind.

If you did that, you should go to Scenery>World>Scenery and find a stub file created by your compilation. Remove that.

Or at least I think that's the directory, If George would remind me again :D

Thank you guys!

I did. The original was 162.999 and I set it to 163 !
Little did I know this would bring about such a destruction!

I'm trying this right now.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys.

so let me check what happened last time The altitude was changed, according to George, or Golf-HotelDelta,
From this thread:
Well, you do realise that my ADE file would have created a stub file in Scenery\World\Scenery. That is the first thing to remove.

If you find a file there that was last modified as recently as your last compile, which you SHOULD, remove it from there and store it somewhere separate and safe (Just in case you got the wrong file, you can never know what may happen ;)), then run the scenery again. If I AM correct, the runway should NOT dip under the ground

I have never had a problem with any flatten and I've made hundreds.

Did you exclude the default flatten?

Did you set the vertex heights of your flatten to the new altitude? (They will, by default, remain at the original altitude).

No. I only made the above change.

I somehow corrected the airport now, though runways are now "soaring" some centimeters above the ground.

If you deleted the file, don't forget to return the airport to it's original altitude. If you have a flatten, make sure you also put it at the given altitude

I tried this, but no success.
Maybe it's something wrong with the location of the airport, cause it's somehow built on a hill, on an area 163ft above sea level.

Try fiddling with the values, mainly the poly altitude and airport altitude.
Everytime you recompile, remember to delete the created files first.
