• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello everyone,
I am having a problem. It might be minor to the experts, but to a newbie like me its MAJOR. I'm selecting my island and clicking "Make hole" and going to the parent polygon and then clicking again. Here are some pictures...

Then after I click, it turns this color instead of Clear/White

Anybody know what is wrong? This has been driving me crazy all day, please help!

When attaching to polygons, it adds a color. You can actually change the color.

i am not sure about holes..... But I have added rivers and roads. I can use a color to make sure i know what is roads and what is rivers.....

I hope this helps....Color means nothing!

DG:eek:

When you go to set the Hole polygon and it prompts you to click on the Parent polygon you must click on the edge of the parent. You will probably want to be zoomed in at a level greater than 12 to be precise. Just clicking on the water polygon that fills the QMID cell is not enough, SBuilderX wants to know exactly where the boundary of the parent polygon is.

You will know if it has taken or not, as the Hole polygon should turn white once it's set within the Parent polygon.

Also, do not apply any TAG to the polygon that is set to be the Hole. After you have gotten to where SBuilderX recognizes the Parent / Hole relationship you can then go and highlight the Hole polygon and select Edit | Copy and then Edit | Paste. The cursor will then show Paste at the end of the arrow. Away from the Hole polygon click to make a copy of it. Press Escape, otherwise as you click you will continue to get copies. Once you have one copy of the Hole polygon click one of the edges to turn it green and then right-click and select a land classification to apply to the island. The (still zoomed in?) slide the copy of the Hole back over the Hole polygon to where they sit on top of each other. Save, compile, copy the cvx_xxxxxx.bgl file to an active scenery layer of FSX and see how it looks.

Thank you so much! The main problem slowing me down has been solved! :D :D :D
