• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I added 3 bgls to a scenery folder in FS2004 & added the textures to the texture folder. A new dat file was made but I got three messages like eg. this one. The scereny cfg has the scenery in it. How do I get rid of these messages ?
scenery read error. attempting to open a nonexistent directory:c\fs2004addon scenery\lytvv1\texture\mediteranearn180. click ok to continue.
scenery read error. attempting to open a nonexistent directory:c\fs2004\texture\mediteranearn180. click ok to continue.
Thanks.

Hi Terry:

Quite likely the first message indicated that the active Scenery.Cfg for FS9 already has an Area layer in the Scenery Library GUI stack of layers for that scenery.

The second messages likely indicate that the c\fs2004addon scenery\lytvv1\texture\mediteranearn180 folder is missing, or not locally paired with:

c\fs2004addon scenery\lytvv1\Scenery.

Have you inspected that folder path in Windows Explorer (aka "My Computer / Computer / This PC" etc.) ? :scratchch

Hello Gary,
As always you're the fount of good advice. I'll check it out & will let you know how I get on.

All The Besr,
Terry.

Gary, I wanted to add 3 boats to the wooden jetty of the small restaurant I'd added to Tivat Airport you see in the half-size snap.
I had put the textures in the scenery texture folder but it seems the boat textures had to be added in their folders....new to me but now I know !

I have to say what a lifeline simulated flying is this mad house arrest world all around us.....& thank you for your help.

Terry
