IMPORTAGN step

Hello,

I think I need some help with the IMPORTAGN step.

I have some existing autogen - basically only vegetation.

I use the IMPORTAGN step to load it and add more autogen - more vegetation, buildings, and agn library objects.

But it seems that not all additional / new autogen is created. I can see that it is mainly the new vegetation that does not appear.

Cannot it be because there is already some vegetation imported by the IMPORTAGN step? Can this step actually use the existing one, create a new one, and add it to the existing one? Or the existing autogen does not allow the same type of autogen (vegetation in my case) being created and added?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Milan

Hi,

What you want to do should work. If you import the AGN files the autogen objects are loaded into memory. Any additional autogen you create is also added in memory and when you export the autogen everything is written to disk again.

There is no logic to check what kind of autogen is in the existing files.

Maybe some features are prevented by others? For example polygonal vegetation can depress the building autogen. Are both vegetational of the same type?

Hi Arno,

From the manual I understood it should work as you say. Let me experiment first with one agn tile. I will report the results here.

Hi,

Just to close on this one... finally I decided to use my source to generate agn vegetation instead of merging the existing one.

So no experimenting and no news on this front in the end.

OK, no problem.

I did also see you reported a bug a few days ago (with the SUBTRACTFEATURE step). Did you solve that one already?

I ran into the error during batch processing. So I just amended the conf file for this particulat process (skipped the step causing the error) and went on.

No problem.

I had another (though unreported) error when getting heading from the nearest line for xmlagn placement. Do you want me to report it the next time?

Milan

OK, I'll close the bug report then.

Bug reports mainly help me if I can reproduce them here, then I can make the tool more stable. So feel free to report any crash. Although for scenProc it's often hard to reproduce it, since I don't have the geo data being used.
