• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Importing building from other sceneries?

Hey everyone;
Q. How do import Terminals/Buildings from other scenery to ADEX? In order to modify some airports with nice terminals?

Thanks,

Thiago

Add the file(s) that contain them as a library in ADE. I trust, however, you appreciate that in so doing, you would be pirating someone else work if the original developer hasn't given permission to copy them.

Thanks Don,
The modification of an airport will be in the use of my own and never to be share to anybody and work done by some else. I don`t pirate and never intend to pirate any hard work to bring our community so enjoyable.
And how do I add into my work though?

You guys are the best.

Thanks again.

Don

Just for clarification, if you don't have permission to copy, either via the EULA or expressly, you don't have permission to copy - even for your own use. However, so long as it's exclusively for your own use, pirating is probably too strong a term given its usual connotation - but it's still a breach of the original developer's rights.

As for how to do it, I told you:
Add the file(s) that contains them as a library in ADE
. Once you've done that, they're available for placement with ADE.

Hello Thiago

Section 14.8 and 14.9 of the ADE Manual has information on using Library Objects with ADE. However its based mostly on using FS stock sceneryobjects. Importing Scenery Objects that others have designed can be placed in ADE and compiled if you have all the proper files used in the design of the scenery.

Section 7.6.5 explains the Library Object Manager in ADE9X which provides full access to library objects and allows you to manage their information.

This feature even includes the ability to make user developed object libraries available in ADE9X which is what you are asking how to do.

Adding a Model .mdl is also good information to know if the designer used those outside his library bgl.

hope this is helpful
