• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Improper jetway function

Hi,
It's been a couple of years that I see that oddity of almost reversed jetways misattached on AI aircraft in default or modified default airports. The even more weird fact is that the jetways show that way when I arrive at the airport using any addon or default aircraft. That means that if I visit an airport without carrying out a flight, all jetways behave properly and attach the AI aircraft as they are meant to. The whole issue is describe as if P3D were unable to manage and properly attach the jetways on the exits of AI aircraft. I think that a solution could be found when the P3D way of managing jetways becomes understood.

Hello, I had a similar issue with jetways...looks exactly like the picture you attached and when they "retracted" they would fold back into the attached terminal. The cause was a corrupted airport_objects.bgl file in \Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 (or v4)\Scenery\Global\scenery
If the airport_objects.bgl has been recompiled after any type of modification, the jetways are affected in the manner you see in your attached picture.
I had used MCX to recompile this bgl and I finally noticed that without doing ANY changes, simply using MCX to load the BGL and then to save (compile) it, the total size of the bgl changed significantly. This happens in P3Dv4 or v5 or v6. I have not tried it with the most current release of MCX. At the time, I made Arno aware and he was investigating. I simply had to revert to restoring the airport_objects bgl from the original LM download.
Just an FYI...it may not be the same, but it sure looks like it.
