• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Insert Model Problem

Snip-------

In AFCAD I added an extra runway to KRDU solely for takeoff, and DRAMATICALLY increased traffic there. (Probably ~50 planes in line to take off) When I go there though, all of the planes get the same runway assigned to takeoff instead of assigning half to 5C and half to 5R (designators changed of course from regular) all try to take off 5C and there is just a long line from both terminals...

is there a way to change this?

This is your original question. You have to play by the rules that FS9/FSX enforces.

1. DO NOT renumber a runway that has a ILS. This destroys the approach code and causes User/AI planes to have erratic landing behavior.

2. Your Localizers are corrupt using the wrong IDENT for the wrong runway numbers.

3. Your runways have a number but the Localizers are listed as a different number

4. You closed 05R/23L for takeoff which is a Terminal Departure RWY. All departures will now use 06L/24R

5. You renumbered 05L/23R to 05R/23L. Where is your companion approach code bgl?

6. You renumbered the original 05R/23L to 06L/24R. Where is your companion approach code bgl?

7. You have a 05L/23R runway but all the Localizers say 05C/23C.

Your KRDU will not work since all the runways and ILS's have corruption in respect to the Stock ILS's and Stock approach code.

6. You renumbered the original 05R/23L to 06L/24R. Where is your companion approach code bgl?

I know but I had 6L set for takeoff only...

I wasnt concerned about the approaches for (former)5R because it was changed to 6L and closed for landing

maybe I wrote the question wrong...

why does ATC direct every aircraft to takeoff at 6L instead of both 6L & R?

Because 6L is a Terminal departure runway. The rule is all Planes as per ATC will use the runway Closest to the Terminal at KRDU.

That means 6L and 5R are the Active Terminal Runways. You closed 5R/23L so all AI Planes are sent to 6L/24R. ATC cannot send a plane to 6R/24L since a runway exist between that one and the Terminal.

oh.. ok...

I was just always wondering that... why doesn't ATC recognize the 'traffic jam' and send 1/2 to 6L and 1/2 to 6R? Is there a way to change this?
