• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

friend of mine has Win z 32. Installed MCX, Program starts to come up but then stops and gets message.... not responding. Help?

Hi,

What's the message? Is the message that the program stopped responding or is there a more detailed error?

If it happens even before the main screen shows completely it might be related with OpenGL. What is the graphics card used?

Something about "not responding" I've seen this often in Win 7 64 bit. He has 32 bit because his motherboard can't use 64 bit. He's doing anothe rmachine soon but this old one can only take 32 bit. The video card- not sure. He might post here soon. In the meantime I'll ask about his open GL - Not sure about the setting for that.

Hi Arno: JohnnyB here. I'm putting the system back together after a crash and decided to move up to W7 32 bit. With a few bumps in the road, MCX is the only utility/program I can't seem to get working. Even when I installed MCX freshly, the window comes up on execution, but that's it. If I click on anything, it shows that the program is "Not Responding". I'm not sure about the OpenGL. All the other programs are now working with no problems. My next move is to download the MCX file again from FS Developer (The file I reinstalled from was downloaded before the crash and survived the crash by being on another drive. Any Ideas. The system ran XP pro before and now has W7 32 bit, 3 gb DDR2 ram Nvidia geForce 8400GS with 1 gb vram duo core @ 2.13 gHz boosted to 2.43 gHz (Whici is all it will take and remain stable. Thanks. johnnyb

Hi Arno,

Post Script to my last post:

I did go up to FS Developer and DL'd MCX v1.30 (I was running v1.00). Though it takes somewhat longr to fully load (???) it does so and seems to be working ok. At this point I am not even going to try to figure out why it takes about 30 to 40 seconds to load, I'm hapopy it's working:)

Thanks for your time. Keep the sunny side up.

Hi,

Version 1.0 is quite old indeed, so happy to hear you got version 1.3 working again. Not sure why it loads so slow, I haven't heard of that problem before.
