The latest development release includes a feature that has been requested many times already. That is the ability to interactively move model parts and attached objects with the mouse in the 3D preview. When in the navigation interaction mode you can press and hold the M key to enter the move sub-mode for the selected node. With the R key you can enter the rotate sub-mode. In these two sub-modes you can use the right mouse button to move or rotate along one of the axes of the object or to move it along a plane.

The video below gives a demonstration of this feature.

This is a first implementation of the interactive editing feature. I am sure there are things that can be improved to make the editing experience more smooth. So if you have ideas for that, please post them on the forum.

Thanks Arno for another great feature. My apologizes for constantly bring up other issues when you're working on new features. I'm sure it breaks your concentration and ability to focus on your work.

Regards
Rick

No problem, fixing annoying bugs is often more important than making new features.

And for many years suggestions and questions in the forum have succeeded in distracting me and starting to work on something else. But that variation is also nice.
