• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is anyone using 3.4.3.14(b)?

Unable to duplicate.

The error message identifies two condition:
  • aircraft not installed
  • unable to determine parking radius
Are you sure the noted aircraft were installed?

Guenther, I've had a close look at the code involved in processing aircraft parking radius - both in the main program and the analyser, but found nothing of concern.

Please check that the aircraft involved have valid [Fltsim.n] blocks (particularly as to "Model") and that there is a "wing_span" entry in their [airplane_geometry] block.

If you hover the mouse over an aircraft in the Aircraft List, does a radius then show? Did the same message appear in 3.4.3.14, the general release.

Any additional information you can provide may be helpful.

And if you hover the mouse over an Aircraft List entry?

And, did the same thing happen with 3.4.3.14?

Thanks. That means it's not due to something I did recently - not that that's much help since I still can't reproduce the issue.

How about sending me one of those problem aircraft as well as the traffic file. Maybe I'll see something there that will help.

Hi Don,
in between I found out that all of my traffic bgls brings the error message "AC#xx, Aircraft Radius not known" if I load the traffic bgl.
Is a aircraft database gone lost?
The program starts scanning for aircrafts (very short) and than scans for airports...
very strange...

Hi,

I can confirm Saturn_29 on AIG Forum, that 3.4.3.14 works fine.

I installed it again today, scanning for aircrafts took some time and no more errors...

As I reported in the other forum, I have found and am fixing the problem.

Since the error was introduced in 3.4.14(b) and you have confirmed it does not exist in 3.4.3.14, it's not clear how 3.4.3.13(f) could have been afflicted as you reported above.

Look for a new development release later today.

I have just uploaded Development Release 3.4.3.14(c) to http://stuff4fs.com. It should be automatically discovered if you have selected development release checking on update. Otherwise, please visit the website and download it manually.

This new release fixes the issue discovered in its predecessor (missing parking radius) and another related issue. Hopefully I haven't introduced any new ones in doing so.

As before, I would hope a few advanced users will download and use this new release. Also, as before, back up you current copy of AIFP.exe so that you can quickly revert is necessary. Please report your experience - good or bad.

the C version is also not working. In 3 sec after starts all the buttons become "unpushable" and you can't close the app

Can you please provide the previous version? 3.4.3.x something, NOT x.14

This seems inconsistent with the immediately previous post from a long-standing, very experienced user. Could you please provide more detail re "In 3 sec after starts", e.g. starts of what?

Did you not back up "aifp.exe" as recommended? That's the only file needed to restore operation.

no i did not back up. I have a day off today, I would install the plans
PLEASE attach any p3dv5 compatible file. Thank you

In 3 sec after the app starts it hangs. Opening any zip flightplans also leades to a freeze. I tried deleting (completely), i tried b i tred c version. I only need an older one

I have received numerous reports from advanced users operating 3..4.3.14(c) satisfactorily, and I have tried numerous .zip flight plans myself. So,
Opening any zip flightplans also leades to a freeze.
would seem not to be accurate. That being said, perhaps you are attempting to load some sort of .zip-formatted flight plan that AIFP doesn't support. And, presumably you have/had the Reload Last File on Startup selected and AIFP's attempt to load the errant file is causing the "hang" shortly after startup. You can fix that by opening your aifp.ini file and setting the "Reload on Startup" line to False, saving the file and then attempt to open AIFP.

From where did you obtain these flight plans? Perhaps you could post one of them.

If the cause is a file format AIFP doesn't support, AIFP should tell you that, not freeze. Should that be the case, I'll certainly update AIFP to avoid the "freeze".

I don't want to have this conversation, I am kindly asking you for the FOURTH time to provide previous version of AIFP

I see. You wish to have access to error-free software (don't we all) and you're happy to trash software when it doesn't work to your satisfaction, but you're not prepared to help investigate the issues you report - even when the suspicion is that you are misusing the software since your report is so inconsistent with those of other users. Yet you seem to feel entitled to demand service even when you ignored the author's advice and neglected to back up your earlier version before updating. I also suggested a method for you to fix your current issue, but it appears you did not try it. How much did you pay for this software?

Unfortunately, the size of the archive exceeds the attachment limits of fsDeveloper. So, I have attached just the aifp.exe from 3.4.3.13. Hope that works for you
