Hello All --- I have been working with ADE since day one and switched to 1.65 months back.
I am in the process of building another NEW airport and have run into this problem.
No problems with establishing a NEW airport until something gets moved....recently setting up a new runway and set it up with start points. The start point worked fine at boot-up (airport is default airport at FSX boot) until I moved the runway and readjusted the start point. NOW, when FSX boots into the default airport, the plane is positioned at (or near) the OLD start point. I tried immediately to remove the airport files (all the files that ADE makes and are visible) yet this does not fix the problem and does not allow me to fix the start point issue.
To recap the problem, the issue is at FSX boot up time, with the plane not booting at the start point on the runway. This, after it worked fine, until changes were made. I cannot get rid of the old/original startup position information even by deleting ALL of the ADE-made airport files and starting over with the same ID, names, parameters, etc.
After going through this a couple of times, it appears that airport information is being stored somewhere else when the runway and starts are first included and saved (??) So this is my question. How to COMPLETELY remove airport information so an airport can be duplicated from scratch if needed without this "mystery recall" of previous information???
HELP!!! Many Thanks All ---- Bob
***EDIT***
Well, after much hairpulling here
--- I believe I found the reason for the issue.
My program install (for ADE) resides on my C: drive but my FSX install is on another drive.
I found that ADE maintained another directory on the C: drive containing ADE airport information separate from the primary ADE airport files in FSX which is on another drive. I was failing to search the C: drive for files -- just the other drive!!!! The issue was fixed by removing the appropriate files on the C: drive. Arrrghh. Live and learn. Maybe some wisdom for those operating as I do with FSX on a separate drive while installing ADE on the C: (system) drive.
Thanks --- Bob
