• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi guys. Been a while since I've been here !

I dropped out of simming a couple years ago due to other life pressures, and only just came back

Clearly a lot has happened to the flightsim arena in the interim, and I assumed everyone would have moved on to MSFS 2020/2024 by now. Not something I'm likely to be doing, given the number of hours I put into customising FSX and building scenery, aircraft, traffic etc., none of which is available in the new sims. And conversion doesn't look to be a realistic option. So although the new MSFS's look very pretty, I'm afraid FSX will have to see me out.

I was therefore very pleasantly surprised to see discussion of FSX/P3D still quite active here. Not only that. but some familiar names still very much active, many of whom gave me a great deal of help back in the day. (You know who you are !) I will now make a point of checking back in more frequently.

Welcome back!
Thanks Tom. I have to say I've been looking at the stuff I modified/created and have some difficulty remembering how I did it ! Fortunately I now have pretty much everything I need to fly my world, so hopefully all I may need in future will be a few tweaks. But then who knows . . .

I should probably update my profile pic. Or at least change the hair texture. That was a while ago :-)

Welcome back.

I guess we all need a new "livery" now and then. My photo is also getting a bit dated after all those years.
