• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 KRH_texture_transform

Hi everyone i am new to using Blender for MSFS. Every time I try to export model from the blender kit assets i always get an error for every model from the blender kit. I am using blender 3.3. The error required extension not supported: KHR_texture_transform. I have no idea what this means. I've tried sketch fab models before without a problem. Any ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

The error usually means that you have scaled the texture using some mapping nodes

Don't touch the shader tab
To scale the uv, scale them in the UV Editor

Ohh great, I didn't know that. The blenderkit model comes scaled by default so i assume the original creator of the model scaled it to his liking. Now i wonder how can i change that for it to be compatible with MSFS? Do you have any suggestion for that?

It is not related to the model itself, is about the material the model is using.
Not extremely familiar with Blenderkit, but I noticed that some of its material are really convoluted, sometimes procedural and so on, those stuff are good for rendering, not for games.
So you can keep the geometry, but for texturing/materials you need to use the MSFS materials only

I see now why not to many developers use their model assets. I am supporting the development in all I really think it's nice what they are doing. I will try to strip the material off the blender model and start adding the material from the MSFS Standard Parameter.
