• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time post. I am having issues with a model I am working on at the moment, specifically this one:
4808027392_8d27ffb362_b.jpg

I have the main landing gear all animated and properly tagged in gmax...but as soon as I select it in game, the animations do not work, the gear stay in the retracted position. I have all tags in the aircraft cfg setup properly.

Now I want to finish this helicopter (which was done by Alan Devins) within 3-6 months, but I don't want to have to go thru these types of problems, which of course will pop-up.

Any help is truly appreciated.

P.S. This is my first gmax project:D

Hey Eurostar,

Sorry that I didnt have the answer for you on this. If FSX doesnt have landing gear supported for Helo's, which I doubt, there must be a way, then you can always, for now, create a custom L var and make them raise and lower that way. You could link them to a different keyboard animation, such as tailhook, etc. With Tailhook, you would need the 'aircraft config' string entry for it to be activated.

Awesome looking model!

Bill

Hey Eurostar,

Here are the contact points for my Spinner. Note, 4 landing gear, not three.

Retractable landing gear all function properly.

Landing gear drop settings are 4 seconds each way.

Make sure you have set the right stations for time. There are 3 more options stations past the 'time' stations, 2 are sound and I forget the 3rd.

Thanks Bill, I will try those out tonight. hairyspin, thanks man, she is getting there...even if it is slowly;)
