• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Landing lights placement...

I have installed a HP67 - Hastings aircraft that was initially designed for FS2002.

After an issue over the spinning props (black discs - now rectified) everything works as it should but I have one outstanding issue to do with placement of the landing lights.

They appear to be "behind" the wing!!!

The aircraft.cfg file gives the light data as:

HP67-Hastings
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit
light.0=3, -4.4, -56.80, 0.60, fx_navred
light.1=3, -4.4, 56.80, 0.60, fx_navgre
light.2=3, -50.70, -0.05, 2.50, fx_navwhi
light.3=1, -41.00, 0.00, 20.45, fx_beacon

If 1 = beacon etc ..... what about landing lights? Only "beacon" and "navigation" modeled.

I note in the FSX default 737-800 cfg:

Def_737-800
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -24.20, -56.60, 3.90, fx_navredm ,
light.1 = 3, -24.20, 56.60, 3.90, fx_navgrem ,
light.2 = 2, -71.32, 0.00, 5.92, fx_strobeh ,
light.3 = 2, -25.00, -57.20, 4.20, fx_strobe ,
light.4 = 2, -25.00, 57.20, 4.20, fx_strobe ,
light.5 = 2, -7.55, 0.00, -5.50, fx_beaconb ,
light.6 = 1, 2.00, 0.00, 8.70, fx_beaconh ,
light.7 = 4, 47.60, 0.00, 3.00, fx_vclighth ,
light.8 = 3, -29.50, -56.60, 3.70, fx_navwhih ,
light.9 = 3, -29.50, 56.60, 3.70, fx_navwhih ,

5=landing but NO landing lights are indicated through 0 - 9:confused:

Can anybody tell me where the landing lights details are given in text???

What I would like to do is bring the landing lights into their correct position.

It has to be quite straightforward ;) I just can't see it right now.

OR - is it built into the model-file, perhaps?

Ken.

Landing and Taxi lights are built into the model file. They cannot be moved or edited without the original source code.
