• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Landing moving platform (like moving carriers or gondolas)

Hello everybody, some years ago I was looking for the way to get a landing moving platform, like on aircrafts carriers. Now, with MSFS 2020 and 2024, the problem seems to have been solved, I saw products with that possibility (carriers one). Do you know in the SDK how it can be done ? Thanks for your help !

You can made carriers using worldscripts
The SDK doesn't contain an editor and documentation is terrible about this, most of the knowledge is from P3D

You can learn something about worldscripts following my tutorial

And following superspud instructions

Once you get familiar with these, the carrier needs a specific tag in the missions xml: IsCollidableWithUser, a random code snippet

If by Gondola you mean my CableCars, that's completely different and use external Simconnect application

Happy to meet you, dear Mamu, I was willing to bet you would be the first to answer ! I'm progressing a lot seeing your videos on Youtube. Thanks !

It's not CableCars, it's a suspended gondola on what we call "Pont Transbordeur" (transporter bridge) here in France. You have around 15 old ones of this type of bridge in the world, the first of them in Bilbao ("Puente Colgante" 1893) and only remaining one in France (near Rochefort). As an architect, I re-invent a new Transborder Bridges generation, and, as I'm found of Blender and MSFS (and glider and simu pilot), I'm trying to drive a car or a bus and get it fixed on the Platform once I'm on the gondola. I followed all of your Waypoints Animation Tutos and I succeeded recently (thanks to you) in putting busses/coaches on the Gondola. It was hard because I have to adjust the speed of my busses with the OFFSET factor before baking the animation. I'm still wrestling with it, that's new for me and in your tutos (moving tractor for example) you are at constant speed, not me, my gondola and vehicles upon it have to accelerate and decelerate slowly.

Next step will be, now, not an animation, but you in FPV who embark with any terrestrial vehicles that exist in MSFS (busses, cars, or, why not, motorbikes ?, and in MSFS2024, avatars) and get fixed on the gondola from departure to arrival.

Hence this topic...

So I read tomorrow your WoldScript tuto (didn't know this one yet) and once familiar with it, I'll send you a message here or on discord, directly.

But what a fantastic tool to showcase such projects, BLENDER+MSFS !!!

I'll show you by private message the first rushes, that's fantastic !!!

So, thanks and see/speak with you I hope about that

Paul
