• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Made a landing pad of this cement slab but the wheels still fall through sections throughout it.Ihave it low as possible and on a flat surface. The whole slab does show red that it is a landing pad before I export it.Is there maybe a setting to adjust to fix this?

Hi,

Is this fs2004 of fsx?

Is the polygon very complex? Platforms work best when they are made up of simple polygons.

Also from your picture I don't really see why you need a platform, the object is on the ground it seems. Then you better use ground polygons.

As the wheels roll it still kicks up dirt and looks like its rolling on uneven ground but hops up onto the surface in some spots. The shadow does act differently.Maybe the surface was effected since I do remember I had trouble using the push pull tool in sketchup saying it wasn't a flat surface.Im using fs9.

Maybe you need to flatten the terrain ( I don't know Fs9 vey well). or there is some problem with the object. you only need to make a plane. add texture to it. don't worry too much, usually the hard surface creation work very well.

Hi,

The dirt from the wheels is always there. That has nothing to do with the platform not working. When making the platform you can specify what type of material the surface is, but all values still give the dirt. I think MS never finished implementing that feature :).
