• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Latest SDK Version access

My Devmode HELP has only 2 entries:
Open local SDK Documentation (says I have only up to V9)
Open online SDK Documentation (says there is a V0.13.0)
Nothing about the SDK Installation.

I downloaded "something" (an MSFS SDK) on 4/12/2021 but I have yet to find any version numbers in the download code. I'll keep looking.

A note somewhere in with the code folders saying this is SDK o.X.o would seem to be obvious.

Without a better more complete DevMode Help menu, I have no idea how to proceed to keep downloads up to date.

Any help is always appreciated.

MSFS itself works and I have made some changes with ADE which I have always thought was the best editor around..

You should have a file :
MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.13.0.0.exe then you i run it to install, select Options if you want a speciifc folder to install to.

Agreed, but I don't know how to download it given what I have with my particular Devmode conditions..

So you don't have this in your menu. if not, suggest - reboot, restart sim or turn dev mode off then on.

when you open the documentation you should see.

Thanks for the assistance .. unfortunately, I can't run MSFS because the new v1.17.30 is a mandatory update .. at 349MiB's into the update, my system stops downloading while updating something in the asobo A320. It doesn't seem to want to write to my system. I have lots of room. It seems I'm screwed again.

I actually think I may have SDK 1.13.0 but I haven't seen anything in the SDK that assures me that's the case by writing a version number. The create date for the folders is April 12, 2021.

Hi John:

If you already allowed MSFS-2020 update a maximum of an hour to complete its downloads, Exit or End Task of MSFS-2020.

Try launching MSFS-2020 App from the MS Store to see if it can do so.

If not, see if there are any further updates required (mandated) by the MS Store for MSFS-2020.

If there are no further updates required (mandated) by the MS Store for MSFS-2020 and MSFS will not launch, try this:

* Make a back up copy of the MSFS-2020 packages folder chain

* Navigate: Windows Start > Apps > Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Microsoft Flight Simulator > Advanced Options

* [Terminate] MSFS-2020

...then:

* [Repair] MSFS-2020

* Try launching (or re-installing) MSFS-2020 from the MS Store to see if it can do so.

If this fails:

* [Uninstall] MSFS-2020 from the MS Store

If such a re-install is required, do so, and only run the downloads for a few minutes, then Pause and Exit MSFS-2020.

Copy the backup of the MSFS Packages folder into the new Packages folder chain created during the MSFS-2020 re-install, allowing over-write.

* Try launching (or re-installing) MSFS-2020 from the MS Store to see if it can do so.

MSFS 'should' inventory / verify integrity, version number etc. of all Packages files, and may only download certain "new" files.

I have 'recovered' my MSFS-2020 installation more than once ...in only a matter of minutes this way. ;)

At worst, one may need to uninstall MSFS-2020, then reset / re-install the MS Store App itself before re-installing MSFS-2020.

If so, copying backup files of the old Packages folder into a newly re-installing MSFS-2020 Packages folder may save time as above.

Been there / done that a couple of times too. :)

Hi Gary .. I'm going to need to make a diagram here .. I downloaded the 17 version 90Gigs but I had to turn off my security suite to do so .. still no luck .. my strategy is to wait it out .. I have a lot to do in Blender

ronh .. thanks as well ..

Amazingly, the proper Help drop down method (as shown above by ronh) suddenly appeared a few days after I posted about this in the official flight simulator website. No action on my part.
