• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

LJLJ Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport (WIP)

Hi!

I recently started working on my first big airport project. Modeling is going pretty good (I'm using Blender). I was lucky enough to get access to the airport so I took a lot of quality photos of pretty much all the buildings so making textures is going to be fun. My only concern now is that some models are too detailed since I'm not experienced on that field. Here are some of the models.

Thanks!
That's just ambient occlusion baked on blank texture sheet. Than I made print screen and cropped it in Photoshop. It's not a full blown render. I saw this method in this tutorial (last third of the tutorial). It's more for baking shadows on your textures but it works well for basic preview also. Proper render would look much better though.

Nice.
I can't imagine why noone made a payware Ljubljana, but finally someone decided to do it! :)
Remember, you don't need much details on the opposite sides of object (which you can't see when you taxi around in your aircraft)

Heck yes, I drive by this airport nearly everyday and have been looking for a high quality version. Nice work so far! Can't wait!

Really looking forward to this scenery in combination with the upcoming crj ill be able to finale start flying adria like i did in RL! Keep the precies coming!

That's looking fantastic. There's one building on the airport property that's very interesting architecturally, and I'm really looking forward to seeing your model of it :)

Yes, you probably think of ATC building. It's interesting indeed.. I'm just modeling it and it's quite a challenge to say the least :) It probably won't have as much detail as main buildings because it's more in the back but it still needs to look as the real thing, at least from a far.
Here's what I have so far.. it still needs quite some work.

Oh yea, that's the one. Nice work so far, I can't imagine it's easy to figure out the proportions and angles from only pictures. Best of luck!

I'm busy texturing :)
Things were a bit slow in December.. so many mandatory partying going on, family dinners and other "places to be people to see" stuff. Since that's over, I'm back at work, I recently started texturing.

I'm really looking forward to this and I really appreciate airport designers who choose to do smaller and/-or lesser known airports like this one. Great job!
