• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I'm finished nearly everything except for the runway lighting on my KGSP. Just a few more weeks of tweaks left to go. Is there anyone that knows how to do the runway lights the old fashioned way so they will show over my gMax runway? If so, would you be willing to help? The runway is 11100 ft. I could give you the specs and my gmax file if needed. I've seen it mentioned that Airport for Windows could be used for this, but since it might be payware at some point, I don't think that is possible. If not, I can use light_nav and do it myself, but I was hoping to save on performance issues by not going that route. I guess what I'm looking for is some kind of scasm wizard to manually code the lights.

OK, nevermind. I bit the bullet and spent the last 3 days trying to figure out some basic scasm stuff. I am pretty close to getting the runway lighting finished. In a way I'm glad no one replied. It forced me to tackle that dreaded scasm monster.

I should have some ready by early next week. I'll actually have a little spare time this weekend to clean up a few things.

I have decided to redo the buildings in gMax for several reasons. I'm also dumping my hand made textures and switching to photo textures since I have a better camera now. This shouldn't take too long but will delay any screens for the time being. I'm sort of finicky that way. I just want it to look as good as possible.
