• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Looking for texture artist...

I am currently working on a scenery addon for Denver International Airport (FSX only). The addon has custom ground textures, ground polys, buildings, etc. Ground polys are im place, but I have decided after spending several days making texture sheets that I will need to farm some of the work out. I mainly need someone to make concrete/asphalt textures, as well as volumetric grass textures, and anything else that comes up that I can't do myself (this may include bump, specular, and fresnel ramp mapping). Please note that as this will be a freeware release, so it is unpaid. But, I'd be grateful to get any help tghat can be offered.

I must confess, I think the notion of a texture artist either an extreme rarity, or a myth.

All modelling for scenery projects involves the painstaking texture work also.

You are not alone; many have asked. No doubt for the same reasons you have. The work is painstaking.

If there is a 'texture artist' in the house, perhaps they can refute this.

It doesnt take long to figure out how to texture. After some practice you will see your getting pretty darn good.

Yea, I believe everyone started with aircraft repaint.. Im also looking for texture artist and I tell you that it is very hard job to find one. So if you are able to model, then you are the artist to be honest.
BTW there are people who are wiling to do this but you need to consider fixed price. Just google 3d freelancers job.. you got it. Here it Comes Freeware.
