• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Hi.

I have tried all to sort this out, i want two change GUID on a model (LightMast) so that i can have two mast's (same model with different names), one with a red light (effect) on top and one without.

No matter what i do, GUID of original model shows up all the time, frustrating, yes...i have tried to delete model after loaded it in modelltweaker, change GUID and name on model and saved it with a new name, same result, i give up...

Anybody who can help me?

Yes, I had the same problem, the trick ?, isolate the model in another folder.yes weird, and don't know how I discover this trick, sorry but I can remember very well, could be that this isn't the solution, but I got to change the guid.

sorry, I could no explain better, (the english is very bad), you only have to make a clean folder without models, only to export the model with the changed guid.
Import the model from any folder, set new guid, and export to the folder you expressly have created for this. Can't fail.

ModelconverterX has a protection that prevents you overwriting an existing MDL with a new GUID

Unless there is a new bug, you simply have to save a BRAND NEW filename.

No need for a new folder.

Note the win7 path dialogs boxes can be buggy with filename selection.

Hi,

As mentioned if you overwrite an existing file, the guid will be preserved. This option can be disabled in the options though.

In all other conditions, using new guid on the object information form should be enough to change the guid.
