• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MCX Export issue

Messages

Hi Arno
After downloading the latest version of MCX, I can no longer export an mdl or dae or others.
Then, when I exit MCX a screen appears stating that an unhandled exception has occurred.
Failed to save settings: An error occurred while loading a configuration file: Access to the path C:\xxxxxxx\rpyhm 1by.tmp is denied.
How to fix this error?
Thanks in advance

Jean

Hi,

You might want to try to delete the config files. The manual explains where these are stored. Maybe they are corrupt.

Glad to hear that fixed it!

Hi Arno,
I contacted you on FSDeveloper regarding export issues from the latest MCX release.

By deleting the folder containing the .cfg file, everything was back to normal.
However, today, it is impossible for me to open a model compiled in gltf.
What happens to my MCX?

Best regards
Jean

Hi Jean,

What happens when you try to import a model today? Do you get an error messages in the log? Did you update MCX to a newer version?

Until this latest version, I left the MCX folder in a download folder.
After writing my previous post, I moved the MCX folder to the desktop.
The problem seems resolved.
Sorry for asking you about a simple location problem on my PC.
Best regards

P.S. I'm using the November 12 version.
I will download the update which is posted today on your site.

Jean

The changes in the latest development release are for exporting FS2004 MDL files mainly. So if you are working with glTF it should not make a difference.

Hi Jean,

The last issue you reported with the report error function yesterday was that the glTF file you tried to export to was in use by another program, so MCX could not open the file with write permission.
