I have a model jetway that I wanted to add a Number board to the jetway Head. I tried 2 approaches. I have the number board as a separate mdl. I used the Attached Object editor to add an attach point at the proper location and used the GUID of the number board mdl. I create 2 bgl files, the first being the jetway with the attach point, the 2nd is the actual number board mdl. Using simdirector to place the new jetway, it did indeed show both the jetway and the attached number board, So far so good. Next , instead of using an attach point, I used the Merge Objects tool and loaded the Number board and set the offsets to the same values I had previously used when an attach point. So the new model has the jetway, and the Number board now ( with no attach points). The tree view shows the 3 model parts and MCX renders the model properly. I exported as scenery object to create a bgl. I again used simdirector to place the object. It is a single object and has both the jetway and the number board. Working fine as a static jetway. Next I tried the same exercise on an animated jetway. Everything worked fine until I ran the animation ( in mcx) The jetway moves, but the number board stays at the original point in space. This is with trying it with either an attached object or a merged object. Is this a feature in that animation does not move attached objects when the associated model is moved. or is it an error in the way I add the number board? Is there a way to accomplish this. ?
