• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Arno,...

Is it possible to extend the workings within MCX of the 'Texture converter',... meaning access to the different switches that could be involved. For example,.. -dxt5 and/ or -dxt1 (or even -dxt3). Maybe even a multiple conversion area, like choosing from this folder and placing them in this folder option. Basically allowing the user to choose what switches to use or not. I know that it would take time to do.... but it would give better control within MCX and easier access to imagetool without having to go through the cmd prompt.

Thought I would at least ask ;):)

Hi,

The DXT types are now done automatically based on the existence of an alpha channel. But that might not be optimal in all situations indeed.

I could probably give more choice in the GUI, with smart default values it would not make things extremely complex.

What do you mean with different folders?

What I mean by different folders: for multiple files only,... say you have multiple .psd files in 1 folder and are ready to be converted into dds files or bmp, the user would choose the folder where the psd files are located,... and they would be placed in another folder after they are converted to dds or bmp files. Of course, the user could decide to put them with the psd files folder also,... but this would give more options on where to place them after they are converted...

OK, so you mean a kind of batch convert actually where you can select input files and an output location.

Yes,... exactly a -batch switch option but on which folders or files - where from; to where to (place them here after they have been converted)
