• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Arno !

I downloaded MCX vers.1.3 today and can not open any bgl. or mdl. file

I can not see MCX in the property list which shows what program to use, and I can not browse to make it find MCX.

I appreciate your help.

Have you tried running MCX to make sure the paths are configured?

Then from MCX, click Import and then choose the file type in lower right corner of dialog box.

Hope that helps, if not I'm sure Arno will be along to help.

But for the moment I have nothing to add. Please try what was suggested and if it doesn't work please let me know.

Hi VAEjonp.

Thank you for helping. I think this is a computer related issue. I can open a bgl file with MCX but when I click on a bgl or mdl file it does not associate to MCX.

I have to search more or throw the computer out from the window.

Best regards:

Floda

Hi,

ModelConverterX is not automatically associated with BGL or MDL files. If you want that, you will have to do that yourself. Normally that is done in the "Open with..." window of windows. There should be a button there to browse for the program to use and then you can select the location where you installed ModelConverterX.

Hoi Arno :)

I made a registry repair and everything is working fine again.
MCX is a wonderful tool and I must learn to do more then only open bgl files.

Thank you Arno and goedenavond.

Hi again Arno !

That's exactly what I have done from the first beginning , but it lost the association to MCX after a virus scanning. As I wrote , the registry repair made it work again.

Best regards:
Floda
