• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

Are you sure you are not trying to mix fsx and fs2004 mdl files in one library?

Is this for fsx or fs2004? For fs2004 make sure you have a scenery mdl, not an aircraft mdl.

This is for fsx: I attached thee screen shot because I noticed the grid did not completely encompass the model; I wasnt sure if this was the problem until today when I compiled a different model (for a separate project) directly into a bgl and using that. This model also had the same thing with the grid, however it worked fine. When I went back and tried to convert the other model directly into a bgl, the compiled file is no where to be found. Sorry if its confusing but I thought I give a little more background.

Hi,

Could it be your file is 0 kb? In that case check the error log for messages what might go wrong.

It looks as though all the errors are something about the textures or faces not being a power of two (?). This is something I see alot with my other models that still work fine though...

Hi,

The texture size warning should not prevent the MDL from being exported, it just means that the textures need some work to work in FS. No other messages in the event log?

Could you attach the mdl file here? Maybe I can see something from the file itself.
