• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

OK, I will take a look :).

Hi George,

With the latest fix that made the wheels of the Tiger Moth working again, this model seems to work again as well.

Hi,

Looks like almost none of the MAIW models convert correctly. Neither SAMM converted ones nor directly imported original AI models show up correctly in MCX (nor in FSX).
Arno, in your MCX there is a whole bunch of importing (set condition variables) and animation editor options without me (us?) knowing what they are and less how to set them. Could you perhaps explain?
You still have more than 7 hours before the weekend is over :D!
George, you are driving Arno nuts. Each time you come up with a model issue, MCX is updated. I had to update three times today (and three times was probably only because I went to bed early yesterday) :)!
Take a break, take a Kitkat (sponsored comment).
PS: Pilotable Apache heli's convert fine.
PS2: Have you set the 'remove all animations and fix at key xxx'?

Hi George,

Let me try. I did not have the textures and the checkboard pattern seemed to display, so that was all I could test.

You have too high expectations :). I also don't know what all of them are, but I am working on getting better names displayed for them. In the conditions form you already see some that are named like ailer_left or so. That indicates this variable controls the left aileron. By changing the value you can deflect that aileron. I agree it is a bit messy and confusing still, but I am still learning how those conditions exactly work in aircraft.

Forget the list in the animation editor for the moment. Now it is just there to show if there are animations or not. Also for that one I am working on getting better names, etc.

Nuts, me? ;) It is very useful to get this kind of feedback from users. Makes it much easier to develop the tool. And many of the things I fixed this weekend were on my todo list already anyway.

Hi George,

About the texture issue, there is an icon at the top for "Textured faces mode", you are currently in "Faces mode", which means the textures are not displayed. It's the icon next to the sunny one.

With the latest version, I have no problem with any of the MAIW models, except that many do not have the glass textured.

In particular, here is te Apache:

I missed another update then?
No, I did not, but the result is not quite as it should be.
Opened this one (MAIW_NBAI_WAH-64_AAC) directly with MCX without using SAMM, but with SAMM the result is the same.
Yes, Arno, I have high hopes (too high? maybe you are right but sofar I have not been disappointed).

Hmm, the only MAIW Apaches I have are MAIW_NBAI_AH64D Apache Simmons AAF and MAIW_NBAI_AH64D Apache 1-130Avn.

Did you use "Remove all animations"? I am guessing that the pilots are animated.

Hi,

I did remove all animations and fixed at 740.
Simmons AAF has the same mdl's but USAF textures as AAC with UK textures.
Strange.

Strange indeed.

In my case, SAMM gets it completely wrong. If I try to include all animations after the initial model save, I get an error

If I load the initially saved model into MCX I see:

So it seems that SAMM has a problem with animations.

However, if I load the AI model directly into MCX, it seems just to have the two doors displaced:

Hi George,

I get that same error everytime I push the Include All animations button with SAMM_0011 as well. Whether Include All animations is functioning or not after selecting Continue is hard to say.
I think you will get the same error message if you click the Auto animations button too.

Don is aware of the error message.

Cheers
Gary

Hi George,

I just tried several more aircraft of various types and I get that error with both the Auto and the Include All animations buttons every time they are pushed, whether before or after I save the .mdl.

Are you saying that the SAMM_0011 Include All button has worked without an error message on some of the aircaft you have deployed it with?

Cheers
Gary
