• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Menus and panels

Hello guys
I've stumbled upon this great video from fsdreamteam showcasing the upcoming GSX :

In this video, the user can click on a button that would hang from the tool bar we have in MSFS...HOW ? How do we add this button there, and how do we program it's behavior and what it does ??

Second thing is the GSX menu. In old fsx / P3D days we used to have atc menus to control our addons, nowdays with msfs, the menu text function doesn't work in simconnect, so I was wondering how do we tell MSFS to create a menu and assign functions to each item in the menu ???

I used menus with simconnect back in the day and it was so simple, a text function with some items and event catching, now I don't really see a way to do it

Any ideas ???
It has been achieved so it's possible 🤠

Cheers

Yes sure, always, more then enough, are you ready here we go.

1. Go to the source and contact the developers from Fsdreamteam directly and ask them how they did it, where they got their information from:

2. If Fsdreamteam is not willing to share:
2a - Find other MSFS2020 add-on product manufacturers who already have mastered this trick and ask them

If these attempt turn up empty you still have a few some options left.

3 - Do a very deep and extensive dive into the official MSFS2020 SDK "documentation"
If this publicly accessible MSFS2020 community_level "documentation" does not show/tell you how to do this, the next logical step would be this one:

4 - Contact the Head of the Microsoft FlightSimulator / Asobo Studio's /MSFS2020 "Partner program":
Be prepar3d to BUY your way into this program and hopefully - if you pay them enough - they then will $ell you the full and completely documented MSFS2020 PARTNER LEVEL SDK ;-)

Why? Microsoft has been using this bu$iness tactic for over a decade since Microsoft ESP came out: (2007)
fsd_esp_sdk_background1.jpg

A - Microsoft has never had the intention to FULLY LICENSE to outside 3d partie (see the green lines)

B - Almost "everything microsoft" has always revolved around their big buck$ paying bu$ine$$ partners

C - Here you have the proof, from the horses mouth - that if you PAY ENOUGH - you will get full access to all the entire "SDK" content.
So far only Lockheed Martin and a few dedicated military-grade hardware simulation solutions builder developers have that level of esp/msfs2020 sdk-clearance.
The rest of the entire global flightsim community is being fed unrelated fragments, bits and highly crappy undocumented pieces of the <*cough*> msfs2020 sdk <*cough*>

Now you know it too. Good luck on your quest to find out how fsdreamteam pulled of this trick...

<*cough*> msfs2020 sdk <*cough*>
I am not native english spoken, but I certainly managed to reproduce your message...<*cough*><*cough*>.
The crude reality of things, you illustrate. I am glad I came across your post.

Any ideas ???
Well, there is always the community.
Ask around, you will , at least come across some hints.

Good day to all
