• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi, something I have noticed lately is taht when working with agn files in the same scenery, all those files must be overwritten if you want to add some new agn files, something that is very weird, how can be this resolved I have Heard about agn tools for this but not sure how this work. I learn also of "agn2txt" but not sure his purpose either.

Hi,

The easiest way is to use an IMPORTAGN step in your scenproc configuration. That will load the objects from the existing agn files so that you can add new ones to it. When you save them again everything is saved.

Of course it's a good idea to make a backup of the existing files. Because if you would run the configuration again it would import your modified agn files and you would get double objects. So be careful with that.

All right, in this way I will be able to load the vegetation too, and check frame rates etc.
I oberved that one should add more types of roofs to get some variety in the buidings, could be ?. I mean that when one use only one type of "flat roof" ,the buildings are very similar.

It depends on the guid. Some are a group with many roofs in there, others are a single roof. In the last case it would become all similar indeed.
