• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I had made 2 virtual airports EDB1 and EDB2, both with exclusion-polygons.
Both are working good in FSX, but only one (EDB1) is coming up in ADE and the second one (EDB2) is not.
Where did i lost this polygon:confused:
Please have a look at my files.

Bert,

There are no exclusions or airport background polygons in EDB2_ADE_BVK.ade. They are present in EDB1_ADE_BVK.ade

hi George,
When you look at EDB2 in FSX you'll see the airport without any trees because i have used an airport background polygon with Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen.
So in FSX it is still working, but not showing up in ADE.
I wanted to make a correction to the shape of the polygon, but it's gone....
Ofcourse i can easily make a new one, but i was wundering how this could happen.

I am still in the learning fase of using ADE:D

Bert,

I you see no trees, you must have a cvx... somewhere in your active areas.

George

Sorry Bert I missed that. Yes, it is an airport background but it isn't in the ADE file. That's strange since it was obviously created by ADE.

Unfortunately Jon won't be around for a week or so but I will remind him of this when he returns.

Hi George,
No problem at all George and no hurry!...these are virtual airports and it's a (nice) hobby:)
I only want to add that this is the second time a lost an airport background polygon....and i don't understand why?
I should be glad when you will remind Jon of this and come back to this thread.

Bert,

Your EDB2 ADE and BGL files are dated 19/06/2008 but your CVX file is dated 2 days earlier. Something happened between these two dates. Did you open the bgl file in ADE then save it?

There is no way to reconstitute the airport background from the CVX file, you will need to redefine the polygon in ADE.

Hi George,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I did open and saved the bgl.
It's all very clear now. I just redefined the polygon in ADE and problem has been solved.
