• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

hi i want to know if there in any way in the model.cfg to run 2 models as interior. as i have 2 files or get then atached to each other so only file is neede as 1 of the files could be exported so had to made a new seperate file.

as i cant do much about the other file as it is from a add-on

Hello KAPTEJNLN,

I didnt quite understand that. But, if this might help, simply make a secondary model folder, have the second version interior in that one, then make a secondary 'aircraft sim' block in the aircraft.cfg file and assign it to that secondary model and state that its a variant with the new interior version.

I hope that helps.

could you give a exsample on what you mean in the aircraft.cfg i mean how it could look
as i think i understand that about make a model folder.

Sure, no problem.

Here is an Aeronca Registry block.

[fltsim.0]
title=AeroncaK United States
sim=AeroncaK
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=
ui_manufacturer=Aeronca
ui_type="Model K"
ui_variation="A: NC17481 U.S."

Note above that 'model=' is blank. Create a new model folder. Name it model.new (for example). Now, copy/paste that Registry block above, and paste it below and reset to be a new entry, as like this.

[fltsim.1] <<--- 1
title=AeroncaK United States #2 <<--- #2
sim=AeroncaK
model=new <<--- new (name of new model folder)
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=
ui_manufacturer=Aeronca
ui_type="Model K"
ui_variation="A: NC17481 U.S. with New Interior" <<--- 'with new interior'

This will then enable you to have a 'new selection' that will utilize the new interior.

Now, with FSX, the interior model will be the new interior.mdl, and you will need to enter its new name in the model.cfg file to mate the new mdl's name.

Here is an example of using alternate model and panel folders in the same aircraft.cfg file:

[fltsim.0]
title=Cessna 310 N5077J
sim=Cessna 310v4
model= ; default ../model folder
panel=
sound=
texture=N5077J
kb_checklists=Cessna 310v4_checklist
kb_reference=Cessna 310v4_references
ui_manufacturer=Cessna
ui_type="310R"
ui_model="C310"
ui_variation=N5077J 3dAnalog
ui_typerole="Twin Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="Military Visualizations"
atc_id=N5077J
description=Although no longer in production, the Cessna C310, was and still is one of the most popular twin engine aircraft and the choice of many General Aviation enthusiasts.

[fltsim.1]
title=Cessna 310 N5225J
sim=Cessna 310v4
model=G1000 ; alternate ../model.G1000 folder
panel=G1000
sound=
texture=N5225J
kb_checklists=Cessna 310v4_checklist
kb_reference=Cessna 310v4_references
ui_manufacturer=Cessna
ui_type="310R"
ui_model="C310"
ui_variation=N5225J G1000
ui_typerole="Twin Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="Military Visualizations"
atc_id=N5225J
description=Although no longer in production, the Cessna C310, was and still is one of the most popular twin engine aircraft and the choice of many General Aviation enthusiasts.
