• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Model textures folder when displaying an mdl

Hi Arno,
A minor one this. I spend quite a bit of time checking what I've done to models by quickly loading them into MCX.
The problem is that MCX looks for the mdl textures only in a folder called 'texture'. If your main texture folder has an extension ie texture.512Sqn, then MCX fails to load textures. To test this, I added another folder with the same textures in, but named just texture, and the texs showed up.

On some future release would it be possible to have MCX search for the textures in a texture folder or a texture folder with an extension wildcard so, 'texture or texture.*' ?

A few people on this forum have also had this issue.

Many thanks

Cheers

You can either use the livery box or set a new search path...

Hi,

I would say use the livery box and try to touch the search path as little as possible.

It's also on the wishlist to parse the aircraft.cfg and texture.cfg file to find all liveries.

Hi Gents,
Many thanks for that 'little gem', as they say, you learn something new every day....!

That's the answer, and you can also see the model in all the other texs.

Arno, as said, only a very minor issue, anyway now I've discovered there's an easy way. Thanks.

Cheers
