• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I just installed ModelConverterX to convert and place objects in FSX(.dae to .bgl) but on the import panel, when I select and open .dae file, following error appears:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I tried importing other files including downloaded from sketchup warehouse and converter wizard but got same problem. I have stable release of MCX and I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Thanks

Hello,...

Try using the development release,... sounds as if your using the "stable" release or version 1.3.

Hope this helps,...

Hi,

Can you attach the DAE file as well? Then I can try to reproduce the problem.

Hi Arno.
I did not use any specific .dae file. I used many of them downloaded from sketchup warehouse and my own sketchup model. But as you say, I'm attaching the .dae file(downloaded from warehouse) but I tried on someone else's computer and it worked but on my PC, it does not open or if it opens, it shows a model with full of red spikes as you can see in attached picture.

Those red spikes are the normal vectors, you can turn them off with the button for that.

I'll check the model and see if I can reproduce it.

Thanks for help. With "Display normals" buttons, I get the clear image of the object but I am having another problem. When I open convert and place object wizard, it some times gives the same error(mentioned above) and somtimes, it creates .bgl file but nothing appears in FSX and sometimes, it appears(no problem for destination of FSX).
