• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

More bombs

1. Open Stock Airport, enter the code and it brings up the airport. If I get lax with the mouse pointer and click underneath the airport name I get an error box and shutdown. TBH, I'm not really sold on my wireless mouse, but the cord clutter makes it worthwhile.

I know about this one but have never been able to track it down :o I will have another go.

2. Open the list for taxi links, highlight one of the rows and select the Edit button will cause an error box and shutdown.

George just found this one as well so I have it on the list for a bug fix release in the next couple of days.

3. Only I could work things where something like this occurs! I tend to batch my project, so I'll open many stock airports and then turn around and save them with the new file name conventions set in ADE. Do the same when adding background images, open, insert, save, repeat... Seems the memory use doesn't get cleared, so it keeps growing and growing and growing (bad pun!).

No - not just you. This is a problem with the Graphics Engine that I use. I have tried a number of times to get it to release memory but it still goes it's own way. Don't have an answer except don't do it this way ;) Some day we will change the GUI to WPF but not for a while

Don't update to 1.35 we are going to release 1.36 shortly :)

Good to hear. Now I'll see if I can find some more...:p

On the memory useage, it was staying within an acceptable limit late yesterday (past midnight here) when I was opening and closing a bunch of files in succession, say forty of them. Never ran into the monster slow downs, unless it was a BIG airport with a lot of data. Going onto another airport afterwards was not showing any speed degradation. Strange?

I have never found the logic to it Lance. I put a lot of extra code into ADE to force the disposal of stuff from the old airport but some bits I can't seem to get at.
