• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Moving camera

Hello boys:
I want to do a "camera travelling" at mission's start, and I did that, by attaching a camera to an AI ground object, and set the camera 20 meters up. It gets the "travelling" that I wanted, but only in an airport, because the ground there is plain. When I want to repeat this, but in a irregular ground, the camera goes up and down, jumping always..., just following the ground. To avoid that, I've tried to attach the camera to an AI Helicopter, but I've just read that AI helicopters doesn't work on FSX, and I am going to try to attach the camera to an slow plane like the Piper J3 Cub.But I don't know if this fix are going to work like I want, so..... Does anyboby knows another way to to that ?

( Sorry for my english)

The Piper Cub is what I'd've thought too. Try it out, it should work. ;)
Of course the banking of AI aircraft is ridiculous, so if the Cub will fly a curve, the camera will do weird things, even more as it will be attached above the aircraft. To avoid this you'll have to mount it in front of the prop, just on the length axis of the aircraft.

But here's another aproach: If you do this mission for Acceleration only, you can fly the path you want with a helicopter or in slew mode and then assign this to any simobject and attach the camera to it. ;)

EDIT: Of course you can also use a moving scenery object. This will not be affected by downforce, it will float in the height you assign to its waypoints.

Using Mobyle scenery object all have worked well, just like I wanted ! The one thing that I can't get is that MSO doesn't disapears when I don't need it, even setting "False" the MSO through an OAA. I've done a "cheat", wich consist in that the moving object is not a plane, is just a man, he "lands" and then he is "part" of the sceneary, being unnoticed. !
( I think all "cheats" are "legal", if you get your objectives!

That is 100% true. In fact this is a bug, and everybody who uses MSO's needs to use that sort of cheat. You can also assign waypoints below the ground. ;)
